AND THERE IS MUCH MORE TO SEE

For most people having holiday means relaxing and calm down. But there is still time enough for new impressions, delicious food and some sightseeing. So here is a small list of inspiration.

FOOD/DRINKS
There are a lot of little lovely restaurants in walking distance of our house. They offer mainly croatian but also international food on an average price level. Here is just a small selection:

Restaurant of Hotel Jadran
You reach Hotel Jadran within a 2 minute walk. While having your dinner you will have a lovely view on the bay. The restaurant is famous for his pizza and every friday and saturday there is live music all night long.

Konoba Rico
Situated right in the heart of the small fishing village Seget Donji, the Konoba Rico is very famous to most of our guests. You get simple but delicious and fresh croatian food at low prices. They are also known for their large breakfast.

Buta (new)
Buta just opened last autumn so they dont have tourist experience yet. But they are very famous to local people, especially bigger groups. The interiour is new and very cosy. The menue is small and its changing daily, so you can be sure that it is absolutely fresh. And a lovely view over the bay is for free.

Joke's
You can perfectly reach Joke's by following the promenade for 2km. We know Joke's since many years for his yummie spaghetti with prawns, for the delicious pizza and for all the other things on the menu that has a lot to offer. One thing is for sure: nobody will go hungry.

Segetski Dvori
In a lovely ambience and with a fantastic view on the bay, Segetski Dvori is the perfect place to chill and to have amazing dinner. Fresh mediterranean food, good wine and a lovely staff – there is nothing more to add. It is just a 15 minute walk away from us.

Zule
Zule is an institution since many years and just 1km away from us. It is frequented by locals and tourists all year long. On the way to Medena Beach it is a perfect stop to grab an icecream or a cool drink. For hungry guests you will find everything from spaghetti for the kids to barbecue for the bigger ones. The beach in front of Zule is very famous to families with kids.

Barba

This restaurant offers excellent food on a high level all year long. If you want to try good seafood, this is your place. Barba is about 15 minutes walking distance away from us and its very famous to tourists but also to locals. Thats why we recommend to make a reservation in advance.

Trogir is a little city close to Seget Donji. You can reach it by feed in about 25 minutes or if you are too lazy, there is a taxiboat going two times an hour. After just 10 minutes you will be at the seafront of Trogir.

Trogir is a tiny village with old buildings, a long history and in summer it is full of life. In every corner you will find a restaurant, bar, shop, live music and street artist. Trogir is – so called – the most romantic city in croatia. You will understand why, when you take a walk and get lost in the hidden little streets. To come back to Vila Marin, you can take back the taxiboat again. Check out schedule for the last boat going.

SHOPPING
Just about 10 minutes walking distance, you will find several small grocery stores and a bakery. Trogir has a few more stores to offer. For a huge food shopping there are two big supermarkets just 4km away.

The Bazar in Trogir offers local fuits, vegetable and other common things, but there is also a range of croatian specialities. If you are searching for a little souvenir, this is your place.

EXCURSIONS
If you want to see something more around Vila Marin and dont want to lie on the beach anymore, there are several opportunies to spend your days. Here are some ideas:

Trogir
is one of the most romantic cities in croatia and people love to get lost in the labyrinth of small hidden streets. You can reach Trogir by feed in about 25 minutes or if you are too lazy, there is a taxiboat going two times an hour. After just 10 minutes you will be at the seafront of Trogir.

Split
is the second-largest city of croatia with a long and turbulent history, which began in 400 CE. In the old city with the Diocletian's Palace you will feel like back in roman time. In many different bars and restaurants you can spend your time enjoying this historical scenery. Split is easy to reach by car or bus (line 37) but even with a boot going a few times a day. (www.buraline.com about 1h).

Fish Picnic

Filips Marina offers many daily excursiosn to the islands around. Favorite to most of our guests is the Fisch Picnic. On this tour to the islands Drvenik and Šolta, you will have a stop at some crystal clear hidden bays where you can refresh yourself and jump into the blue. Croatian drinks and a lunch with fresh local fish makes this day perfect. A lovely day out.

National parc Krka
National parc Krka is just a 45 minutes drive away from us and famous for his seven waterfalls. Take one of the boat trips along the River, that will bring you to the tiny island Visovac where you can visit an old franciscan monastery. At the end, close to some old water mills, you will see the Skradinski buk waterfall, the longest waterfall on the Krka River. There you can have a bath, a rest in the shadow or a nice snack with some good dalmatian wine and ham. This trip is absolutely worth to go.

OTHERS

Car Rental
Mainly on the airport Split but also in Trogir there are several rental offices where you can rent cars, motorbikes or bycicles. If you want to have a good price, we recommend to book online in advance.

Ferry
From Split harbour, ferries are going a few times a day to the bigger islands (Hvar, Šolta, Vis etc.). In summertime – especially if you go by car – we hardly recommend to make a reservation in advance. From Seget Donji ferries are going to Drvenik Mail and Drvenik Veli four times a day. Check out schedules (www.jadrolinija.hr).

Action
Quad adventures offers an unique experience for the whole family. After a full training and introduction from a qualified safety instructor you will ride through the unique Dalmatian bush land and mountain trails. This is the perfect way to experience the beautiful scenery that the Dalmatian coast has to offer. After this trip a refreshing jump into the Adria is perfect to wash the dust away.
